Coeurage was founded in 2009 by a group of graduates from California State University, Fullerton. It was at our first staff meeting, while discussing our company goals and values and crystallizing our mission statement, that the decision to operate on an exclusively Pay What You Want (PWYW) ticketing model was made. We quickly fostered a reputation as a company to watch and have cemented our place in the community as an exciting, high-caliber ensemble of artists.

Our name is inspired by a re-imagining of the word courage: "coeur", French for "heart", and "rage", meaning fervor, on fire. Together, Coeurage is a heart enflamed with passion, which we bring to each and every production.
